Inspired by Van Gogh's Sunflowers, I began this painting the morning the world was told David Bowie had passed. This piece is the first of my flower series and Bowie's death was the first of many in 2016. Sunflowers brighten ones mood with happiness and good luck, they seek out positivity and strength, hold long lives and strong, loyal bonds.
This original is painted with heavy body acrylics on a gallery wrapped canvas. Signed and dated in gold and finished with a gloss varnish.
