The New Orleans Crescent Meter Lid was created in 1921 by Edwin Ford and can be found throughout the city if you are on the lookout. The ornate cover has attracted many to remove the lid and keep as a collectible for themselves. The crescent moon and star design has inspired many artisans including myself to replicate the design for those that also enjoy the unique meter cover but do not wish to remove the iron lids from the ground.
Mixed Media/Acrylic/Canvas

*Each piece is uniquely made through a digital print transfer onto an acrylic skin, which is then applied to the painted canvas. They hold flaws and individuality. They are graphic pops of color. I enjoy the process and the NOLA water meter very much. Message if you would like a custom color.
